Explores why as a designer (in any field) you must be educated and respectful of your medium, as well as push the boundaries.
Explores design as a solution to a problem, especially within visual communication, not the wild exploration of one's ability to make something completely unlike anything else.
Designing for a medium (web, print, architecture, canvas) is a balance of pushing the envelope and submission to constraints. This is where the best design is formed.
Presentation concept is to make designers and the public really think about what makes a good design, as well as encourage envelope pushers to keep charging along, while respecting the mediums they work in.
About Andy Stratton:
I'm a freelance web developer from the Baltimore/Annapolis area. I operate and run Blue Sky Multimedia, a small web design/development studio.
I have extensive experience with computers and the web and have been building websites for over 13 years.
I've worked in, and had as clients, corporations, design agencies, non-profits, and more. I'm a proponent of computer and web accessibility and web standards.
