Ceci n'est pas une stream.
For those of us who like to spend time hiking, camping, or otherwise exploring the natural world, what could be more fundamental to our impression of that system than the shape that water takes as it moves through the landscape in the form of streams or creeks? Contemporary research turns much of our previous conceptions of these watercourses on their head and provides important insights into both how we might recover the natural resource, and the limits of human understanding.
About Erik Michelsen:
Erik Michelsen is the Executive Director of the South River Federation and has worked in the field of environmental restoration, both as a consultant and volunteer, for a number of years. He's a firm believer in the notion that knowing what you don't know is far more important than knowing what you do, and that the latter can often be the enemy of the former.
